-------------------------Starcare Ltd --------------------- practical, domiciliary and specialised services

The Managing Director of Starcare Ltd has over 15 years experience in the care sector providing high quality services to people within their own homes.   Throughout the years a key factor that affects service users are emotional feelings of isolation and loneliness.

At Starcare Ltd we strive to provide a quality service which includes creating a strong bond of trust between support team member and service user so that these ominous feelings can be alleviated.

We encourage continuity and only in extreme circumstances will a service user's designated support worker be unable to attend their preferred time.  We find that this is a comforting and reasurring element of our service that leads to our service users feeling less vulnerable and more secure when letting a stranger into their home.

Continuity of care and support worker is extremely important. Service users and their relatives need to feel comfortable, relaxed and secure with the support workers they are inviting into their home, Starcare Ltd and all members of the team recognise and respect that we are guests in each person’s home and will act accordingly.

It is important that you have support workers you can get to know and who are reliable, dependable, arrive at the time expected and deliver the care required. Service users and or their relatives will be informed where possible in advance if there is to be any changes in their care or support worker so that you can be prepared.

Support workers are only changed for legitimate reasons for example:

  • the care support worker is sick, on holiday, undertaking training or has terminated employment
  • if the service requirements have changed and the support worker does not have the necessary skills or experience physical capacity or specialist training
  • the support worker is unavailable for additional hours or changed times
  • if the service user requests a change of support worker for legitimate reasons
  • if a non-professional relationship has developed between the service user and the support worker
  • to provide relief for a support worker working in stressful situations
  • to protect care or support staff from abuse, discrimination

The outcome of this provision is that the service users receive a flexible, consistent and reliable personal care service.
